The Rossignols are large land-owners in Gevrey enabling them to retain the fruit only from their oldest vines, the rest being sold anonymously. The result is a wine close to premier cru quality, fermented with 30% whole bunches and aged in 10% new oak.
An open nose of alluring black cherries, cream and flower petals gives way to a finely structured palate. The style is rich and deep, with succulent fruit nicely balanced by complex secondary aromas and flavours and an earthiness characteristic of this village.
One of the best Gevrey Chambertin village level wines available, and as such this is great value.
