Dense, powerful but smooth. Mouthfilling dark hedgerow fruit. Voluptuous long and suave. Rich but with enough acidity to keep you going back for more. Notes of bramble, cinnamon, earth, kirsch and mocha. This is the same wine as the Vecchie Vigne only since the 2009 vintage it is now released as a Riserva, a change purely in name only.
From a single parcel of old vines within Brunate planted in 1942, produced in the same way as the other Cru wines: aged for 24 months in 25% new oak barrels - but kept an extra two years in bottle. Rarely more than 800 bottles are made.
