A great way to see the differences in Angus Vinden's Single Barrel Shiraz project. Each pack contains one bottle of the Eastern, Northern and Western slopes Shiraz. It's a brilliant exercise in how terroir influences the wine.
This product consists of 1 wine each of the Vinden's Single Barrel Shiraz headcase wine from the Eastern, Northern, and Western slope.
This is the best way to experience Angus Vinden's Single Barrel Shiraz project. Side by side, face to face.
In 2018, Angus wanted to highlight just how varied the different areas of one vineyard can be. He chose the Howard family's Somerset Vineyard, and divided it into three blocks, based on aspect: Easterly, Northerly and Westerly.
Vinified separately, he produced one barrel of each Shiraz, and they are incredible renderings of the individual terroir from whence they come.
#1 Eastern Slope is quite light and floral. The prettiest of the three.
#2 Northern Slope is more dense, with plush fruit on the palate that strikes a remarkable balance.
#3 Western Slope is the biggest of the three in terms of depth and palate weight, with brooding characters and a rich tannin profile.
