Jerome Galeyrand Cotes de Nuits Villages "En Vignois" 2018

Sourced from the 50 year old ‘En Vignois’ vineyard in Brochon (between Gevrey-Chambertin and Fixin), the wine is made with 20% stem inclusion with 12 months élevage in 20% new oak barrels.

One must not underestimate the quality and originality of producing a white wine in this red wine region. 'En Vignois' is a location near Gevery-Chambertin. The white "En Vignois" is fermented like all big burgundies in wood and matures for a while. Jérôme is a master of the use of wood, because his wines always express a fine fruitiness. White peach, lemon zest, hawthorn, subtle flint, on the palate it is lively, fresh and creamy. A wonderfully dense, long-lasting Chardonnay to melt away.

Jérôme Galeyrand spent eight years in the cheese industry but managed to work a couple of harvests with Alain Burguet in Gevrey-Chambertin. The winegrowing bug bit hard, and Galeyrand took a diploma at the wine school in Beaune. He then started from scratch buying small vineyard parcels, many with old vines. Through tenacity and hard work, his winemaking talents blossomed. Today he works out of Brochon and farms about thirteen acres. His top wines receive stellar reviews, especially in France.
